Dentals & Dental X-ray
Regular dental care, including routine scale and polish procedures, is an important part of keeping your pet healthy. Untreated dental disease can lead to other health complications, such as kidney and heart disease as well as chronic pain. Our Vets routinely check your pets mouths at their yearly booster appointments and will recommend any work needed.
Our nurses can give advice and demonstrate effective tooth brushing to minimise tooth and gum disease.
If your pet needs to have a dental procedure, the Vet will provide an estimate of costs before your pet is admitted. This will always include an X-ray, general anaesthetic, pain relief, nursing care and follow up checks post post pocedure. There is more information about our pricing here.
Whenever your pet is recommended to have a dental procedure, the Vet will take x-rays with a specialist dental x-ray. This allows a clear view of any disease occouring beneath the gum line. It will also help the vet determine the root structure for any extractions needed, making the procedure as minimally invasive as possible and allowing for a quicker recovery. If extractions are necessary, our Vets will always use a local anaesthetic to block the nerve and keep your pet pain free.
